Automatically check drive health with (SMART values)?

Post by TOMillr » Fri Jun 07, 2019 7:03 pm

Not sure, but is there a way to have the S.M.A.R.T. values of connected hard drives (internal and external) automatically be checked and be notified in case a drive is about to brake down?

Code: Select all

G_AGI smartmontools
smartctl -a /dev/sda
https://manpages.debian.org/stretch/sma ... .8.en.html
https://manpages.debian.org/stretch/sma ... .8.en.html

AFAIK this does not work for SDcards or eMMC, but USB flash drives (partly) SSDs and HDDs.
