rclone

I just noticed that rclone has added an (still experimental) web interface. This should make this powerful tool way easier to setup. Would it be possible to official add rclone to the DietPi software list?

Re: Duplicati backup software

A couple of years later, I'd second this request. I have used Duplicati in the past and it would make a nice addition to DietPi.

Create UEFI USB boot media for x64

Hey there, I'm trying to install the x86_64 UEFI iso on a Beelink with onboard EMMC storage. However, when I try to burn the iso to a USB thumb drive, Etcher running on MacOS gives me an error message, warning of a "Missing portion table". I can't boot from the newly created USB drive since it doesn...

Run Zigbee USB-Stick under x86 DietPi?

I'd like to get on of those Conbee II USB-sticks for home automation and turn my Intel NUC into a Zigbee hub.

Has anyone been able to get them to work on a x86-version of DietPi? The official site only provides instruction to install the required software on a desktop version of Ubuntu.

remote maintenance from outside of network?

I'd like to run a DietPi-setup as an offsite backup location at my parent's place.

Is it possible to setup DietPi to allow me to access the system remotely and do some basic maintenance?

I'm already using a DynDNS setup on my router. Do I need to install additional software to get this done?

How to update Plex Media Server

I'm running a Plex Media Server on a x64 build of DietPi. When I login to the PMS, I get a notification saying that a new version is available. But how do I update the PMS remotely? Because when I click on the update button, it just downloads the package to whichever system I'm currently using and n...

Intel Quick Sync support & Plex Media Server

I'm trying to run a Plex Media Server on my Intel Apollo Lake-based system. I've previously was able to use hardware transcoding via Intel's Quick Sync under Windows 10, Ubuntu and the Debian based OpenMediaVault. Under DietPi, however, the Plex Media Server refuses to use the hardware transcoding c...

External Seagate USB 3.0 drive not spinning down

I've mounted an external 5tb USB 3.0 drive made by Seagate and set the idle spindown timer to 5 minutes in die DietPi Drive Manager. Unfortunately, the drive just keeps on spinning, even though I'm running a minimal install of DietPi with no user activity to the drive. Manually testing hdparm just g...

Best file format to use for external drive? (exFAT vs EXT4)

I'm about to use DietPi to setup a mini pc that is primarily intend to work as a Plex Media Server. While the database and OS is going to run from the internal storage of the mini pc, all the media files will be stored on an external 5tb USB 3.0 hard drive. Is there any argument for NOT using exFAT ...

Re: x64 build: Power consumption during idle states

Since the new Debian Buster rc1 release is finally able to boot on my UEFI machine, I was able to do some more testing. When running the latest OpenMediaVault software (which is based on Debian as well) on this device, the CPU properly throttles during idle and I get pretty nice power consumption va...
