Hi,

Yes, exist:

Code: Select all

root@DietPi:~# ls -l /usr/lib/dkms/dkms_autoinstaller
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1635 Jan 15  2019 /usr/lib/dkms/dkms_autoinstaller
root@DietPi:~#
This is its content:

Code: Select all

exec="/usr/sbin/dkms"
prog=${exec##*/}

test -f $exec || exit 0

[ -e /etc/sysconfig/$prog ] && . /etc/sysconfig/$prog

case "$1" in
    start)
                if [ -n "$2" ]; then
                        kernel="$2"
                else
                        kernel=`uname -r`
                fi
                log_daemon_msg "$prog: running auto installation service for kernel $kernel"
                dkms autoinstall --kernelver $kernel
                log_end_msg $?
                ;;
        stop|restart|force-reload|status|reload)
                # There is no stop action, this and the 04 priority during stop is
                # added to make RHEL chkconfig happy.
                # Ignore others on debian/ubuntu too
        ;;
    *)
        echo $"Usage: $0 {start}"
        exit 2
esac

Okay, I tracked down a bit where the error is coming from, and its the final dkms autoinstall call that is done: https://github.com/RPi-Distro/repo/issu ... -844059446

Strange that in the other case this did not happen, but the postinst script instead reached the point where it prints its warning (not affecting the exit code): https://github.com/MichaIng/DietPi/issues/4371

Removing the 64-bit modules will help, but only until the next kernel upgrade happens:

Code: Select all

rm -R /lib/modules/5.10.17-v8+
apt upgrade

I guess the WiFi driver would need to be reinstalled. Can you try following

Code: Select all

modprobe rtl8812au
Pls let us know if a solution is working. This could help others if they hit by similar situation. Your DietPi Team

probably the module needs to be build first. Let's check with @MichaIng :)

Installed kernel and loaded kernel are not the same. You need to reboot first. The kernel driver should be loaded automatically, but otherwise run modprobe rtl8812au after reboot then. The apt upgrade went through without error now, so that part is solved.

It is not a Berryboot image, is it?

Can you show the content of the boot partition and kernel modules:

Code: Select all

ls -l /boot /lib/modules

@MichaIng
does the module would need to be build first using dkms. Something like

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg-reconfigure rtl8812au
:?
