OrangePi Zero 1 (H2+) : Sound-Issue

Post by Lelo »

Hello.

I installed "Mopidy: web interface music & radio player" which I can access now as documented with "http://dietpi:6680/musicbox_webclient".
But although i´m using the expansion board with 3.5mm jack i can´t hear any sound.

I have configured the sound like this:
Sound.jpg
The option "ALSA Output Info : View info on current ALSA playback stream" delivers:
Sound2.jpg
System: OrangePi Zero 1 (H2+/512MB) with Expansion Board and DietPi v145 Jessie (3.4.113-sun8i (SMP) armv7l)

Cheers,
Lelo

Hey there~

Simplest check first. Is the volume up? Check with :

Code: Select all

alsamixer
When the volume is up and you have selected the right card (switch cards with F6); show what

Code: Select all

cat /proc/asound/cards
Is telling us.
Everything i say can and maybe will be corrected by the DietPi seniors in this forum :D
BananaPi M1 using image for BananaPi Pro.
-1TB HDD, Network storage,Downloader(JD,Deluge, ripme) testing what looks interesting.

Selecting "Card: audiocodec" and enterinfg your command states:

Code: Select all

 cat /proc/asound/cards
 0 [audiocodec ]: audiocodec - audiocodec
                      audiocodec
 1 [sndhdmi ]: sndhdmi - sndhdmi
                      sndhdmi
If i change to "sndhdmi" (the board hs NO hdmi-hardware AFAIC)

Code: Select all

 null
<hdmi audio format Function>
I can change from "null" to:
pcm / AC3 / MPEG1 / MP3 / MPEG2 / AAC / DTS / ATRAC / One_BIT_AUDIO / DOLBY_DIGITAL_PLUS / DTS_HD / MAT / WMAPRO

This is what "alsamixer" looks like on "default" (at "chip" there is no entry):

Code: Select all

x Chip: F2: System information x

When i go to to "dietpi-config" and further to the audio-settings i see "rpi-bcm2835", which is RasPi-hardware (i think).
Is DietPi limitted to RasPi audio only? But the Extension-Board doesn´t seem to have an extra soundchip on it.

I had the same problem: in alsamixer I had found a few voices that were muted (MM). Unmuting those, I magically started to hear sound.

Not bad, actually, in my opinion. It's nothing like hi-fi, but for a casual use it's good enough.

Might be worth posting a bug on git for this. I had a similar issue a few versions ago and it was fixed in the next version.

Perhaps the fix slipped out...
