Rerun the PiHole script after update

Post by SubNoize »

Hey,

So whenever I update Pihole via their "pihole -up" function it seems to undo whatever it is your installation script does. Is there a way to call that end of your script to fix/change what it should be changing in order for it to work properly.

Ideally I'd run "pihole -up" and then "dietpi piholerepair" or something and have to implement the changes dietpi makes during installation.

Thanks!

edit: Perhaps it's the changes that "pihole -up" makes to Lighttpd, is there a way to rerun whatever changes or configuration setup is run during the "LLSP" installation so it overwrites the changes that updating pihole makes?

ATM it's a hassle to uninstall/install LLSP to get back.

Hi,

This is a known issue with using pihole -up + Lighttpd and is outside our control:
Git Ticket: https://github.com/Fourdee/DietPi/issues/753
See updating PiHole: http://dietpi.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f ... p=174#p174

DietPi modifies the conf pulled in by Apt, this is what gets generated, replace /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf with code below:

Code: Select all

server.modules = (
        "mod_access",
        "mod_alias",
        "mod_compress",
        "mod_redirect",
#       "mod_rewrite",
)

server.document-root        = "/var/www"
server.upload-dirs          = ( "/var/cache/lighttpd/uploads" )
server.errorlog             = "/var/log/lighttpd/error.log"
server.pid-file             = "/var/run/lighttpd.pid"
server.username             = "www-data"
server.groupname            = "www-data"
server.port                 = 80

index-file.names            = ( "index.php", "index.html", "index.lighttpd.html" )
url.access-deny             = ( "~", ".inc" )
static-file.exclude-extensions = ( ".php", ".pl", ".fcgi" )

compress.cache-dir          = "/var/cache/lighttpd/compress/"
compress.filetype           = ( "application/javascript", "text/css", "text/html", "text/plain" )

# default listening port for IPv6 falls back to the IPv4 port
include_shell "/usr/share/lighttpd/use-ipv6.pl " + server.port
include_shell "/usr/share/lighttpd/create-mime.assign.pl"
include_shell "/usr/share/lighttpd/include-conf-enabled.pl"
