Re: dietpi-boot.service taking 40+ seconds on rpi3B and pinea64

I just recognised that on our current images, systemd-timesyncd is enabled on first boot. I'll search through the code, but is is probably enabled in your case as well? systemctl is-enabled systemd-timesyncd I'll run some tests if it causes delays when time sync has been done already, before (when r...

Re: Keyboard not working at random: crng init done

@Mohd
Okay the kernel panic is a good reason why things hang. Yes please try to reflash.

Re: Fresh nextcloud install failed

You can also try to reinstall Apache2 first: apt install --reinstall apache2-data apache2 libapache2-mod-php7.3 I have no idea how this can happen, but contained files/dirs are still missing in your case. The following dir must exist: /etc/apache2/mods-available/ (part of Apache2 package) and ist mu...

Re: Keyboard not working at random: crng init done

On our RPi image, rng-tools is installed, which should render haveged obsolete.

For first boot, attach some mouse or keyboard and move/type, or wait for a few minutes until the system gathered entropy from elsewhere.

Then check if rng-tools is running:

Code: Select all

systemctl status rngd
journalctl -u rngd

Re: Network Status

Jep, basically the net-tools package has been deprecated, which includes the route and the netstat commands as well. iproute2 is the replacement, with its ip commands set, e.g. ip a, ip r, ip l

Re: Update Nord VPN

DietPi-NordVPN is basically a UI frontend to easily invoke OpenVPN with NordVPN servers and credentials input + some additional features. OpenVPN can be updated regularly via apt as mentioned above, the UI frontend script is updated together with other DietPi scripts via dietpi-update.

Re: Fresh nextcloud install failed

What the hack... This module is fixed part of the package and must be available: https://packages.debian.org/buster/amd64/libapache2-mod-php7.3/filelist I checked the postinst script: #!/bin/sh set -e if [ -e /usr/share/apache2/apache2-maintscript-helper ]; then . /usr/share/apache2/apache2-maintscr...

Re: Python upgrade

But docker creates some overhead. But yeah further isolation from the system and easy updates and all of this, hence recommended at least if one uses docker already for other tasks.

Re: Raspberry Pi kernel info

The different memory sizes are due to different GPU memory shares: - The default value is 64 MiB for GPU, which is default on Raspbian. - DietPi is shipped with only 16 MiB for GPU, as long as no desktop and graphical application is installed, hence more RAM left for system. But this can be easily a...

Re: Using PREP_SYSTEM_FOR_DIETPI

Jep that's how it can be done and yes I'll add this to the wiki entry about how to create DietPi images a generic way.
