Re: Dietpi + Emby. Updating Emby and enabling SSL

I just wanted to say that I recently needed to rebuild my server, and I went with your method for encrypting. It works beautifully. In fact, with your permission, I'd like to edit my original post with this as the primary method (with credit where it's due, of course)....since it is far simpler. Hi,...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Boot from SSD

pls let us know if it was working to flash the image directly to SSD and boot from it. As this is quite a new functionality on Raspberry OS, it would be good to have some success stories ;) FYI, I've been running dietpi directly from my SSD plugged into my USB3 port on my Raspberry Pi 4 4GB for abo...

Wireless Client Mode Access Point

So I'm quarantined in a hotel for at least the next 3 weeks in germany with atrocious wifi. Essentially, I am trying to use my dietpi raspberry pi 4 as a wireless client, to both run all of my dietpi services (namely, Emby) as well as provide internet access to a device connected to its ethernet por...

Re: DietPi on Raspberry Pi 4?

I am using this fanless . Temperatures from 39-45°C depending on the ambient temperature. Same. The Flirc case is an excellent fanless solution. My idle temps are high 30s/low 40s (depending on ambient) and my sustained load is high 40s mid to low 50s (again depending on ambient). I leave it on con...

Re: Dietpi + Emby. Updating Emby and enabling SSL

I don't disagree..... but it sure would be nice if emby automatically imported the necessary certificate format from letsencrypt, or letsencrypt exported the necessary format for emby. Either way would be convenient.

I blame emby for being difficult (since I expect better from paid software).

Dietpi WISP

TLDR: An option in dietpi-config or dietpi-software to configure the dietpi as a WISP router. I travel frequently, and just about every hotel has free internet in the form of wifi. Unfortunately, hotel wifi is sketchy and is insecure at best. Many also disable things like chromecasts etc from stream...

Installing web apps as apache virtual hosts

By default, a few web based applications/interfaces all install to the /var/www directory. Of course, if you have an outside facing website (which also defaults to /var/www) this means that all those other directories are potentially exposed. Either that or I just missed the ability to configure the...

Re: Dietpi + Emby. Updating Emby and enabling SSL

Step 3: While in /etc/letsencrypt/renewal-hooks/post/ run the command "chmod 777 embycert.sh" to prevent any issues (i had some that this solved.... ymmv). The command does not seem to do anything for me. I'm running raspberry pi 4b with dietpi. All files and folders are available as requ...

Re: Very frustrated

So much negativity toward the creators of an awesome, free product, that works exactly as it was designed. No, there is no GUI. If that scares you, you should probably download a completely different distro like debian or raspbian. Can there be a GUI.... sure, but you are going to have to do some mi...

No sound thru HDMI on PC

I have a 1050ti video card in my PC running the latest stable dietpi. It's connected to my TV via HDMI. I have no audio. Not on steam, not on YouTube videos.... nothing. Except when I do a sound test. "speaker-test -c2" works. I can hear the sound from both the left and right as I should. ...
