Plex Not Able to Write

Post by MrBrady » Wed Sep 11, 2019 8:19 am

Hello,

I'm a total newbie when it comes to Pi and pretty green when it comes to Linux-based OSes. But I've got a RPI4 up and running with Plex Media Server. Drive is mounted as FAT32 (I'm on a Mac at home) and it works great!

However, Plex is unable to modify files on the drive. For example, there are some media files I would like deleted and it seems that the 'plex' user does not have sufficient permissions.

I've tried setting my media directories on my external HD to 777, but it didn't seem to help.

Any suggestions?

The directory is 777 for what group/user though? Plex user is probably still not got write permissions. Also setting to 777 is very dangerous. Don't do that.
