Additional Information (if applicable)

Can’t access softwares and nothing working properly even wifi. Tried other forum solutions, nothing works for me.
RootFS is currently set to “Read Only (R/O)”. DietPi-Drive_Manager requires
“Read Write (R/W)” access to function.
Would you like to re-enable R/W access on RootFS?
When clicked ok it shows:

  • Command: mount -v -o remount,rw /
  • Exit code: 32
  • DietPi version: v9.3.0 (MichaIng/master) | HW_MODEL: 21 | HW_ARCH: 10 |
    DISTRO: 7
  • Error log:
    mount: /: cannot remount /dev/sda1 read-write, is write-protected.
dmesg(1) may have more information after failed mount system call.

A lot of I/O and read errors, I think the medium is damaged.
I recommend to run a filesystem check from another system, just plug the drive into another machine (do not mount it) and run fsck. Since the fs is ext4 you can use [e2fsck](https://linux.die.net/man/8/e2fsck).

e2fsck -p -f /dev/sda

is that an internal drive or attached HDD via USB port?

It’s an internal drive. Can’t detach.
Is there any other way to perform this?

attached HDD.
The device boots and can even connect to wifi. However, can’t access internet even though the connection is fine. I can access it through ssh and access qbittorrent and pihole. But that’s it. No other softwares are working.

which software is not working? We would need more logs to check further.

And did you connect a new HDD? Did not get this.

No I didn’t connect any new HDD. My plex server is not even running. Can’t run it at all. When I try fsck /dev/sda1 it gives some error in /home/qbittorrent/.config/qBittorrent. It says it modified file system and says to reboot system. But it doesn’t do anything. The next time if I run fsck it’s the same thing.

As already stated, you would need to share some logs or error messages.

If the device is able to boot from an SD-card or USB-flash drive you could do that and run the filesystem check as previously described (Filesystem stuck on Read-Only - #2 by Jappe) from there.
As it says your device is x86_64, this https://www.system-rescue.org could be a good option for what to put on such a bootable SD-card/USB-flash drive for such a temporary boot media (after moving any important files from SD/USB-flash media of course, as it will be overwritten).
