Repository broken after update

Post by CptPi »

After updating to the latest release, I am no longer able to refresh the repository:
root@DietPi:~# apt update
Ign:1 https://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/ras ... g/raspbian stretch InRelease
Err:2 https://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/ras ... g/raspbian stretch Release
404 Not Found
Hit:3 https://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian stretch InRelease
Reading package lists... Done
E: The repository 'https://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/ras ... g/raspbian stretch Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.
Also, dietpi-software does not work anymore:
Welcome to DietPi-Software

How to fix this?

I changed my /etc/apt/sources.list, change the line that contains

Code: Select all

https://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/raspbian.raspberrypi.org/raspbian
to

Code: Select all

https://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/archive.raspbian.org/raspbian/
and it should work.

I don't know what the long term effect is, but hope it works.

Thanks. Is it safe to keep that change or will it presumably break something in the future? Will dietpi-update work as expected?

Should be fine, a patch in v6.6 will be applied to update sources.list to use the new RPi repo url (http://raspbian.raspberrypi.org/raspbian):
