Re: SSD error on DietPi but working with Raspbian

I see exactly this behaviour.

Re: SSD goes missing...possible connection with samba?

All I can say is that with the same HW, DietPi install regularly disconnects from the SSD, Raspbian doesn't.

Re: SSD goes missing...possible connection with samba?

I had loads of issues with an SSD and DietPi. I moved back to Raspbian and have had no real issues. Personally I think it must be kernel related. A small SSD draws an insignificant amount of power so power, especially with an official supply is not the issue. If it was an HDD I'd agree with you. The...

Re: Logging options

I remember now. Never understood why it is in dietpi-software instead of config, as it is a configuration option.

Cheers

Logging options

I can't find where the logging options are. I'm running off an HDD so I'd like to not use the ramlog. Where do I go to change it?

Dietpi and Proxmox

Is there any chance of getting a Proxmox image added to the VM Images? It seems to be the goto Hypervisor right now.

Re: Installe Node 12.16.3

Install 'n'. https://www.npmjs.com/package/n

Easy to switch between versions of node.js then.

Re: Pi4: DietPi on sole external SSD

I really do not understand why folk want to do this. Other than freeing up an SD Card it has zero benefit AFAICS. I usually transfer the boot folder to an old, small (2GB) SDCard once the transfer of the rootfs has been done and boot from that.

Re: Wrong time after power off

MichaIng Thanks. One of the issues I had in debugging this was that fake-hwclock does not appear to log what it does on boot. Timesync does store the date/time in /var/lib/systemd/timesync/clock ( https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/systemd-timesyncd ) and the rate it does that is configurable. Ye...

Re: Wrong time after power off

I have been having some issues with the restoration of time on a Pi4 on boot on a Raspbian system and noted a similar problem may occur with DietPi. Both fake-hwclock and timedatectl systems save the current datetime periodically (and also on shutdown), but I was finding that on boot, especially if ...
