Re: Need help with PC installation

did you tried following the link above? Yes, but I couldn't do much as the mini.iso didn't past the initial screen, something happens on video detection that put the screen in blank state. I need to check further as the only image I was able to boot was Kali live, so time to go thru dmesg and see w...

Re: Need help with PC installation

I'm on the same boat, an old PC which I prefer to have dietpi running as my other media server, but hit by the noapic kernel panic. Instead of having to create an specific image for first boot, isn't there any way to intercept the boot process and insert the parameter as in grub2 -mini boot editor-?...

Anyone knows why Exim is running in the system?

Always trying to keep my headless raspberry as lean as possible, I noticed that exim4 is running in the system (which I didn't notice before) I failed to get any reference of exim being needed in the forums, github or even pkg dependencies. Does anyone know if it's really needed if no email is being...

Re: USB External - Replaced [RESOLVED]

What exactly userdata contains? (meaning, what critical dietpi/system info did I lost when the external drive stopped working?) Hi Wolf, In short, all DietPi related settings are stored on SD (/boot). The majority of program settings are stored in their default locations (eg: /etc). User data is es...

Re: USB External - Replaced [RESOLVED]

I just suffered the same and I'm considering reinstalling from scratch. Tried to look for confirmation in github and the forum, but couldn't find any relevant.

Re: Script on ramdisk, advice?

Hi, I integrated a python script to read ambient temperature and humidity and display it via RpiMonitor (see http://rpi-experiences.blogspot.com/2013/07/rpi-monitor-use-dht11-or-dht22-humidity.html). As the script executes every 2', I want it to run from a tmpfs ramdisk location to improve system p...

Re: Dietpi/dietpi folder is empty

/boot/dietpi folder doesn't even exist, coupled with losts of FSCK????.REC files full of info at /boot, that's why I'm leaning towards reflashing the card and starting from scratch (just wanted to check if there's any method to batch the reinstall of select features, ie via dietpi-software command ...

Re: Dietpi/dietpi folder is empty

After observing some services not being launched at start (proftpd, minidlna) on my headless server, I started poking around and also found that /DietPi was empty, and /boot was full of FSCK* files. I think the best route is reflash the SD card and reinstall all. Is there any easy way to get the li...
