VNC Tiger Server password

I installed the Tiger VNC server and it has been started successfully but when I try to access it from my mac, then the VNC client is asking about a password.

Do we have to customize the tiger vnc server to auth user with a password ? Does it work using Screen sharing application ?

I fixed the issue by issuing a password with the command: vncpassword
