RevPi Connect 5 industrial computers

Hello everyone.

I am thinking about getting few “RevPi Connect 5” industrial computers. I do not see this unit listed in DietPi download page.

  • Is it supported? Will the rPI 5 image work from download page?
  • Is the Wi-Fi working?
  • Can you use both CAN FD devices? after loading kernel modules and setting up udev/ if needed. I got it working with regular rPI 5 / 4 and CAN HAT, but wanted to hear an opinion if same configuration should work on RevPi?

Are there any other similar industrial solution anyone can recommend that are verified to work with latest DietPI: External Wi-Fi, two CAN FD interfaces minimal (but possibly three or four CAN devices), internal SSD, maybe not booting from it, but at leas mount it for data recoding/storage?

I also found MyPi Industrial solution which has many different IO add-on board. Anyone used DietPi with it?

From the DietPi RPi 5 download page:

These images are compatible with all Raspberry Pi models which have a BCM2712 SoC: Raspberry Pi 5, Raspberry Pi 500, and Compute Module 5

But RevPi provides their own custom images, so it’s possible that some features may not work out of the box or maybe does not work at all. This question can only be answered by RevPi, by a user who has one of this devices or by trail-and-error (which will be pretty expensive at a pricepoint of ~700€ [for 2x CAN buses]).

If you invest so much into such a specialied device it’s IMO the best to stick to the RevPi image.

Indeed nobody from our side can confirm as we don’t have such a device to test
