qBittorrent download very slow

Now I have another problem, since I wanted to put everything back to 0 in qBittorrent and I uninstalled it to install it again, but it gives me an error when I reinstall it. I think the problem is that I changed the repository to see if it gave me more updated versions and now It doesn’t even install it for me, how do I go back to the original repository?

I hope you did a backup before playing around? If not you probably remember what you changed? At least you could share the error message.

You added an Ubuntu repository which is a very bad thing at all because DietPi is based an Debian. This one needs to be removed completely.

Made. It hadn’t occurred to me to delete the repository directly, I thought I had to change it to another. Thank you!! That said, the qBittorrent thing keeps failing me, let’s see if I can ask in any official forum of this

With wrong permissions you could not write anything.
I think it’s a problem of your ISP or within qbittorent itself.

did some testing on my RPi4B as well as Orange Pi5. On both systems I just installed Qbit from software catalogue (no further configurations). On all seeds together I got around 50Mib/s, which is the max on my internet connection.

Did you check the sum of all seeds or just a single one?

Check how fast you can download some linux distribution like Ubuntu.

It starts like this for me, but in 1-2min my speed drops a lot and stays below 10-5MB/s

The same happens to me. It starts off very strong downloading, and when it takes 1min or so the speed slows down a lot and drops to around 5MB/s and even KB/s. I have tried to power the hard drive even with a good mobile charger and not even with those.

Could installing qBittorrent in Docker solve something?

You can try but I don’t think so.
Maybe your board is overheating?

After some research I installed qBittorrent v4.5.5 Web UI (64-bit) and it is working stable.
Problems with fast and slow download speed fluctuations are with disk speed.
I download to HDD (spinnig) disk qBitorrent when I switched to SSD drive download speed was stable and high.

  1. Check when downloading torrents look at View → Statistics

  2. Look at Write cache overload and Queued I/O jobs if they are high numbers then your disk is to slow for such fast donwload speed.

You can test speed of your disk in dietpi-drive_manager

Set limit download speed slower then speed of write of your disk.
