how to activate/enable automatic screen blank after x minutes and wake up on touch again

hi guys,

i’m planning to use my raspi 4 with dietpi + original 7 inch touch screen for homeautomation use mounted on a wall.
i can’t find any settings in dietpi-config where i can set screensaver settings or powersaving settings for touch screen.

i want dietpi to turn off/blank screen after x minutes of no input activity.
i want dietpi to turn on/wake screen when touch input is recognized.

nice2have would be if turn on/off could also be faded because it would look much nicer, but that’s just nice2have …

is it possible to get these things working with dietpi “onboard” features or do i have to install things like backlight dimmer or rpi-backlight ?

best regards

For future reference, this works for me:

Only problem: the touch gets recognized as input, which is stupid. The user doesn’t see anything, but can do anything.
For reference, I asked this here: Don't recognize wake touch as input
