Hi,
can you be a little bit more specific which images you used eactly? Probaly you could share the download link. It might be that you image contains a single Linux ext4 partition only. Therefore can*t be used/accessed on Windows.
https://dietpi.com/downloads/images/DietPi_ROCKPi4-ARMv8-Bullseye.7z
this is the image… I think I download it before, a couple of months again.
and the older version had the (v)fat partition.
Yes the actual image don’t have that partition anymore. It’s a single Linux ext4 nowadays.
Hopefully the WSL2 mount option will be released soon, so ext4 can be mounted easily on Windows. Until then one requires another Linux system for preconfiguration. The boot FAT partition is/was always a workaround which doesn’t work so well, e.g. dpkg doesn’t really support it, requires hacks to serve files to /boot via DEB packages.
Theoretically it should be possible already using Windows 11 Build 22000 or later
Since migrating to a single partition where should one put the /boot/dietpi.txt
for automatic installation? Following the instructions here.
Appreciate any help.

This is working if you have a Linux based system, where , you could mount ext4 partitions. Or you open the image and place the configuration files before flashing them
