Change Nextcloud data storage

Ok, so, I’ve installed Nextcloud using dietpi-software, but my installation of dietpi is on a very small sd card so I would like to move the storage folder into the external ssd always attached to my Raspberry Pi Model B.
Reading on the Nextcloud forum I see that moving data storage after installation is unsupported and that Nextcloud should ask where you want your files during installation. I suppose that due to the automatic installation via dietpi-software that doesn’t happens, so I was wondering if this is an issue that will be resolved or could I resolve in any way or the only option is uninstall and then install Nextcloud “manually” and not with the dietpi utility.

I would like to use the suggested method here and then reinstall Nextcloud with dietpi utility but the link isdead. also I’m wondering if this procedure can create problems with other software I’ve installed (e.g. minidlna)

Thanks in advance

hiii @ParanoidNemo ,

I think the dead link in the forum is this one DietPi tools - DietPi.com Docs
you can use dietpi-drive-manager to move either /rootfs or only User data .
I don’t know what is the best choice for your NextCloud installation .

Have a good day :call_me_hand:

Yes user our drive manager, mount your attach SSD and select it to move user data. This way, NC data will be moved automatically.

Oh ok, so I don’t have to reinstall NC? Better than expected

Can you elaborate on the step needed a little bit more in detail. Having the exact same challenge than OP.

Mounted and formated and external SSD via the Drive Manager and installed via dietpi software nextcloud.

And want to move now the storage location to this external SSD

You can use dietpi-drive_manager to move the user data:
