Hi all,
I tried the info in a post on this page to install kernel 4.9:
https://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=146&t=26007&start=150
It didn’t work, system wouldn’t boot.
Reflashed eMMC, updated new install and then restored from a backup on cloudshell HD.
I got a failed restore message - rebooted and most things worked but:
MySQL wouldn’t run - reason was I had moved my data to /home/john - the restored version didn’t know this - once I manually did this MySQL started OK.
Next thing was all the files in /var/www/html hadn’t restored - no problem, copied them manually, all working fine now.
Could there be a bug in the backup/restore script?
John
Hi John,
Not that i’ve seen in the last 6+ months of using it. I use dietpi-backup almost daily during testing.
Also, was this a System only or Full backup?

/var/www is part of the System only backup. Its possible those files didnt exist in the original backup? You can check with:
Change backup location as needed
ls -lha /mnt/dietpi-backup/dietpi-backup_system/var/www
Hi Fourdee,
It was system only backup as I found this did my /home/john directory.
The /var/www/html files were definitely in the backup as I restored them manually.
Nothing lost really but the MySQL problem took a bit of time to work out.
