XFCE Power Manager not starting after fresh install

Pi3, 8g, DietPi
added, per installation recommendation, to add XFCE Power Manager when installing LXDE desktop. after gui comes up not XFCE Power Manager to be found and when launched from terminal I get error: Unable to get connection to the message bus session / failed to execute child process “dbus-launch” (no such file or directory)

easy fix? Or might my monitor not accept commands… thx

Just tested on my RPi3B+ without issues. I can launch it without issues

Is dbus service running?
systemctl status dbus

now running after reboot and showing in GUI. thanks for response!
also shows running in terminal.
