Why doesn’t DietPi allow you to edit your own fstab file?

Why doesn’t DietPi allow you to edit your own fstab file?

It seems like the simplest, most straightforward approach, but everything just gets overwritten by Drive Manager, which doesn’t even give you the option of setting custom mount points. What was the supposed benefit of this approach?

To be honest, it’s been that way for a long time and there’s no real reason for it. As you say, it was the easiest approach at the time. However, we are aware of the difficulties that came with it and plan to change it. The idea is to introduce a custom section where users can enter their own mounts. Unfortunately, we only have one developer and there are far too many tasks. Volunteers are welcome

Alternatively, you can edit /etc/fstab yourself and do without the support of Drive Manager.

Yeah, after a few resets, I figured out that I had to avoid Drive Manager entirely. Suppose I just felt stupid.

Wish I had the skills to volunteer, but all I can do is donate :folded_hands:
