I have been running owncloud/nextcloud for a few years.
I have a Raspberry Pi 2b as a backend database server with two USB hard drives and a newly deceased Rock64 with a USB hard drive as the webserver/front end.
It is time to refresh but I am only really using these devices as a NAS and I think a Raspberry Pi 5 is overkill.
My overriding consideration is that I want to reliably boot from USB because there are databases which mean a lot of writing and we all know what that does to an SD Card.
Iām sure there are many opinions but I am currently leaning to go for Raspberry Pi 4 as I believe they will boot from USB via a config setting.
Thoughts?
