When I install sonarr via Dietpi-software: is v3 or v4 installed?

Headline says it all: When I install sonarr via Dietpi-software: is v3 or v4 installed?

(I know that upgrade from v3 to v4 is not possible with dietpi.)

I’m just wondering if I could deinstall sonarr and when reinstalling the new version is pulled.

We install V3 still. V4 is on our road map but not yet implemented due to quiet a lot of other tasks.

ok got it. thanks for feedback

one more question:
I will be installing a new media home server in the week after October 7th.

i prefer to install programs on the bare metal so dietpi would be my choice (also because my skills are still very limited). I saw on GitHub that sonarr v4 implementation was pushed since quite some time. will there be
a) a simple upgrade path from v3 or v4 in dietpi-software or
b) will I need to re-install and configure everything from the ground up?

my problem is that trash guides took down all related sonarr v3 documentation and v4 documentation is not compatible.

Sonarr v3 - End Of Life

As of December 30th 2023, Sonarr v4 has been officially released.
Sonarr v3 is therefore in End of Life status.
As v4 is now the only supported version of Sonarr, we have removed the Sonarr v3 guide.
We recommend that all users upgrade to Sonarr v4.

I can’t answer that question yet. We’ll have to see as soon as we know how to get from A to B.
