What to do with watched tv shows to save space? Autodelete?

Hi, I have a question and have looking but can’t find proper way to handle this.

After I watch an episode in plex, there is a way to setup an auto delete? So far, to keep space, when I watched an episode I just delete it from Plex, but this will not delete the actual file in the Download folder, so I need to delete it there too manually.

I have checked the list of available software and I can’t find a tool to handle this task.

How do you handle this? What do you recommend?

Thank you in advance.

Did you enable Allow media deletion?

Yes. I can delete from plex, but that deletes only in the Sonar folder where it saves the Hardlinks, but the downloaded files in the download folder remain there.

Hardlinked files will only get deleted if every hardlink is removed. So I guess there is another ahrdlink pointing to that file. Or do you get an errors in the log about denied permission or so?

Hi Jappe. Is weird, originally when I setup the dietpi and started the downloads, I got the downloaded files in the download folder and then, per my setup, I have the hardlink files in my TVSHOW and MOVIES folders. My issue is, the system keep both files in both places.

After reading, I understood the hardlink doesn’t need the downloaded file once completed, so manually I deleted everything in the download folder, because I was running out of space due the dupe files.

After that, now it looks is working properly, once the download is complete, and the hardlink is created, the system delete the downloaded by itself.

Not sure what happened, but I didn’t change anything but at least that is working now.

My new question is, there is a way to automate plex to delete a watched episode after X number of days?

Yes

Thanks! Is kind weird plex doesn’t allow to setup thi globally, instead need to be do it manually per tvshow
