Use USB LAN Adapter with Pi Zero

Hi,

I tried to install and configure DietPi on a Raspberry Pi Zero. I wanted to use a USB LAN adapter, but I don’t seem to be connected to the network via LAN.

I used this LAN Adapter:

I have mounted the SD card and configured it accordingly.

I created /etc/network/interfaces.d/usb0. This looks like this:

When I connect the Pi Zero to a monitor and boot, I see that it should actually have the IP address 192.168.3.100. However, I cannot see this in my router, nor can I ping it from another computer.

What can I configure differently? And yes, 192.168.3.1 is my gateway, so a 192.168.3.100 or any other IP address on this network would be desirable.

Plus…it appears it’s only going to be a 10/100 speed…don’t see gigabit for that type of adapter

I used several times such an USB adapter without problems.
Differences: I use DHCP and maybe my adapter, which looks like yours, is different.

Could you try DHCP for testing, or don’t you have a DHCP server in your network?
