UPMPDCLI: Is it still supported

Hello Gents,

I like to do a comparison between 2 music server setups. On 1 SD card I’m running moOde which runs perfectly fine using the built in upnp render option using Qobuz as streaming service. I believe this upnp render option is actually based on upmpdcli.
Before moOde I used to run a dietpi with mpd, gmediarender and bubbleupnp server which effectively has the same functionality.
I’ve read somewhere that the upmpdcli renderer working together with mpd is actually a bit better then the combination bubbleupnp server with gmediarender.
I’d like ot test the differences…if there are any
Setting up the dietpi is obviously no problem of course but I can’t seem to get upmpdcli installed manually. The lesbonton site including the instructions appear to be outdated. I followed the instructions creating a new list and a keyring but it doesn’t seem to work.
Does anybody know anything around this subject? is htere a change the upmpdcli becomes part of the software repository within dietpi?

Any answer appreciated…

regards

willem

actually, this i not planned. So I wouldn’t count on it for the time being.

Well in the mean time I got it working. I’m relatively inexperienced using the commandline. Tried to copy files from my windows laptop to the dietpi. Did not succed:). After a lot of googling and chatgpt-ing I came nowhere. Dropbard does not support scp apparently. Winscp is also not working. Powrshell commands not working so I ended up putting the source.list and kering file manually with a stick in the pi into the designated directories…So upmpdcli is now working and I got sound out of USB DAC.

SCP is working very well. You would need to install dietpi-software option 0 to get SCP support

not sure what commands you mean, but regular Linux commands will work.

For this you would need to use a USB stick or install one of the file sharing services like SCP, FTP, SMB or NFS. (all available within DietPi software catalogue)

got scp working. Installed openssh and I did a stupid thing in winscp by not selecting the right file protocol. :frowning:

It’s working with Dropbear as well as you would need the OpenSSH Client only

as mentioned…I’m new to this stuff:)…My next challenge is getting the volume circle slider in Linn Kazoo to work. It does when using moOde but with the dietpi and upmpdcli it doesn’t even slide. I mean I can’t even move the slider.
