I have multiple Pi’s and reinstalling them quite often. The prebuild .img files are still v.115. It would be nice to have images updated every few versions, with latest RPI kernel, to avoid update during initial install, and shorten the overall install process.
We generally update the images every 5-10 versions as it is a lengthy process. It also requires testing to ensure all the images are completely stable. I will also apply rpi-update for RPi images during this process, this will ensure the latest kernel/firmware is installed.
As we have changed serial console to enabled by default, I’am aiming to update all the images when v120 is released. If all goes to plan, this should roughly be within 2-3 weeks.
