UnattendedUpgrades - Unit apt-daily.timer is masked

I am trying to install and modify download and upgrade schedules for [UnattendedUpgrades] (UnattendedUpgrades - Debian Wiki)
by
systemctl edit apt-daily-upgrade.timer and
systemctl restart apt-daily-upgrade.timer

But I always get that error message.
Any ideas?

I am on a fresh install on Raspi 5.

Timer needs to be unmask as stated on the error message.

But there is no need for this addition software as we have a DietPi build in functionality to update apt packages once a day.

So you are saying installing UnattendedUpgrades is unneccassary?
Because it is done anyway by DietPi?
Can I adjust times then for this service?

Yes

You need to activate this feature within dietpi.txt

The daily check is executed as part of the daily cron jobs. Theoretically can be adjusted using dietpi-cron
