Steps to reproduce

I recently switched from an asus router to a netgear nighthawk x6s. For about 4 years I’ve been using a Pi4 as a plex server accessing a usb drive attached to the router. I’m running dietpi. It worked great till I changed routers.

I cannot get it to mount the drive. I tried with dietpi-drive_manager and manually. I get a cif error(2) with drive manager and error(95) manually.
readyshare is the network name.
If I run the plex server on a windows pc it works fine. DLNA access works too.
It’s not password protected but I tried with the password and with guest. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Extra details

I guess you need to provide more details on what these Network Neighborhood/MacShare method is. Is this SAMBA/CIFS?? What is this?

It wouldn’t let me post but one image since I’m new to the site. That photo is from the router. I’m trying to set it up as a samba drive. I’ll post more details and photos soon. I was hoping someone with experience with a netgear router and usb drive could shed some light

You would need to check if your router is supporting SAMBA/CIFS shares and if he is able to provide these

I’m beginning to think that’s the issue. I’m trying to verify if it does support samba. If it does it may be a bastardized implementation that takes unusual syntax

Update: from what I can find on google the Netgear R7960P (Nighthawk x6s) says local network sharing via Samba/CIFS is fully supported. I’ve only found one example of using it with a netgear router on Linux. None with Dietpi. The Linux command in that example didn’t work. Error 2 and 95

This is what I get now error 95

Nothing I’ve tried works. I’m just going to attach it directly to the pi 4
