Ugreen Nas VM Dietpi

Hello forum.

I bought the new Ugreen Nas and thought about using the virtual machine that ugreen offers to run Dietpi on it via a single ssd that is still unused because I have been using Dietpi for 2 years and I don’t want to give it up. I downloaded the PC/VM image at the beginning and wanted to start it but unfortunately it doesn’t work. I would appreciate some help.

Which of the images you test? Because there are different virtual machine images depending on vm platform. As an example, I need to use Virtualbox image on Synology nas. Usually you can’t use native pc image.

I have tried this image.:

Could you please also tell me the right image?

Did you checked with Ugreen wich images are supported? At least on Synology I simply need to import the ova file to create a new VM.

No, I didn’t ask. I just thought that if it works with Synology, it would also work with my Ugreen.

Well, it might work similarly, but we don’t know how virtualisation works on the Ugreen NAS. Theoretically, you could try to install a native Debian on a fresh and clean VM. Once this is running you can use our transformation script to convert the Debian VM into a DietPi system.

Thanks for the info. Which Debian should I use, I’m a bit inexperienced :frowning:

Current Debian stable version Bookworm
