Hello everyone, my first post here, and new to DietPi!
I was configuring an owncloud server and everything fine, I forwarded ports as I always do when creating servers, although it only let me open port 80, (433 seems in use by my own router).
Any time I put the local IP of the server in my internet address bar it goes correctly to the server (Giving me a warning because of the certificate, that is pointing to xxxxx.com, i configured it before using dietpi-letsencrypt). Everything fine until here, works as expected.
But… Whenever I want to open my web from the public IP it raises a time out: ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
It is strange because it is not a connection refused or unreachable error.
I’m out of ideas
Are you trying to reach your system from external via HTTP or HTTPS?
Both of them, I have the lets-encrypt redirection disabled
I found the problem. I still can’t access by HTTPS but my Vivaldi browser was blocking me the HTTP connection on Windows, Linux and Android. I switched to Microsoft Edge and tested in Android and Windows 11 and it works! Now let’s see how to configure SSL…
You need to convince your router to allow port forwarding on HTTPS port 443
Yeah, I solved it thank you. I called my provider as it was blocked in my router and they opened it remotely and now it is working. I hope I have no more troubles with it, took me 3h to contact them lol.
Strange what some ISP believe is correct settings fort their clients
