To avoid loss of frames or videos not smooth, it is better to assign more memory to GPU.
Edit the config.txt in DietPi/ folder like this:
gpu_mem_1024=512
DietPi by default assigns only 256MB to GPU, which are not enough, maybe something to change in next release?
