Steps to reproduce
- Run dietpi-update
Expected behaviour
- Update completes without issue, all is well, angels sing.
Actual behaviour
- I had my unit running headless over CAT5 - during the update process I believe I accepted updating kernel elements or something specific to the RK3588 architecture. After I was not able to SSH into the machine.
- I unplugged the machine from it’s usual location and plugged it into my workstation monitor so I could see the machine’s output. I enabled Wi-Fi over dietpi-config as I do not have hardwired internet at this location. I tried running the update again but it failed to complete.
- I then formatted my SD card (I know I should have made a bug report then silly me) and copied the latest dietpi Rock5B image to it and then placed back into the machine
- I mounted the NVME on the machine and used dietpi-backup to try and restore the backup I had on the NVME.
- The machine still appears to be having issues.
Extra details
- I believe I submitted a bug report (see bug report ID above) however shortly after I was no longer able to connect to network via Wi-Fi - let me know if bug report did not go through and I will attempt again.
- Thank you!
