I have an RPI3 with Dietpi and, while using the previous stable release Buster, my Retropie installation (composed by emulationstation, retroarch and many emulators like Mame, Mupen64, PSX, Reycast, …) was running very good. I always kept the system and retropie itself updated (this last one via Retropie-Setup script). Other than Retropie I also have things like Nextcloud, web server, …
One day, after the release of the new Debian Stable, I upgraded Dietpi to Bullseye and I see no issues on my applications… until I run the Retropie update. From that point, many emulators can’t compile and emulationstation doesn’t start anymore. On the screen I see only
The path /dev/dri/ cannot be opened or is not available
Error initializing SDL!
No available video device
Renderer failed to initialize!
Window failed to initialize!
Also attached you find the log from Retropie update, with many errors around. The first one I see is related to wrong version of libsdl2.
I know that Retropie does not officially support Bullseye yet, today. I’m wondering if someone has managed to make it work on Dietpi/Bullseye at least. Thanks
