edit /boot/uEnv.txt, remove comment from

disp_screen0 = lcd or hdmi

And now I see I am losing my mind,
the comment is restored after a reboot,
but X still works

You’ll need to edit the file on the DietPi RAMdisk location:

/DietPi/uEnv.txt

Changes made there, will be saved after reboot.
