I am aware that “Trixie” (Debian 13) is not released yet and might have problems. I have reasons.
Currently I am not aware of an official Trixie image from DietPi or somewhere else.
Is it possible to use Bookworm from DietPi and than upgrade it via editing the source.list?
I found some comments in the internet indicating that their might be issues or it might be not possible at all. I tried it once and failed. But I am not sure what the problem was.
So can anyone “officially” say it is not possible and worth to try again?
I would assume that editing
/etc/apt/sources.list
and the files below
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/
followed by
apt update
apt upgrade
apt full-upgrade
with a following reboot should work.
yes might be, but for some apps some config adjustments might be needed. Similar to what be describe on our Bullseye upgrade guide or what has been covered within our Bookworm upgrade script.
Thank you for the link and the tips. I’ll try DietPi next time when I have problems.
Currently I can confirm that an Upgrade is possible but not without problems. I used Debian 12 image from Tested images. After installation I upgraded it to Trixie and that worked (incl. xfce, xrdp, ssh, …).
But after upgrade mouse and keyboard not working on the Pi. But this doesn’t matter for me because I do use it as headless system via SSH and XRDP.
