Raspberry Pi Zero, can't usb ethernet and use ssh

my rpi zero has broken wifi chip, i want to ssh to it using usb ethernet so i tried to use traditional raspberry pi os methods to get it working and it doesnt work, unlike in rpi os in which it works great, please help me, Thanks.

can you share what you tried to get USB Ethernet working?

adding dtoverlay=dwc2 to config.txt and modules-load=dwc2,g_ether to cmdline, system shows that usb connection is there and i get ip but i can’t connect to rpi

so is there any other method, or am i doing it wrong?

I used the Pi zero with a Ethernet USB adapter (similar to this) which worked without any changes.
Due to the fact that DietPi has ssh (also with PermitRootLogin yes) enabled by default, no further changes should be necessary to login via ssh (e.g. puTTY or ssh root@dietpi).

I put one of these on my RPI 0 to give me good ethernet…not the fastest in the world…but it does give native ethernet and a few more USB ports

You are gonna need some sort of adapter/dongle/hat/io device…sorry

Here is a driver you might be able to use to be able to plug a USB to micro usb cable into and use it that way

Might be better/easier in the long run to get a device that can multiply the io from the device…either way good luck

How do you know the wifi chip is bad?

P.S. There is a addon that can put a USB directly on your RPi0W
