Raspberry Pi 5 overscan doesn't work

Creating a bug report/issue

I have searched the existing open and closed issues, but couldn’t find anything I haven’t already tried

Required Information

  • DietPi version
    G_DIETPI_VERSION_CORE=9
    G_DIETPI_VERSION_SUB=5
    G_DIETPI_VERSION_RC=1
    G_GITBRANCH=‘master’
    G_GITOWNER=‘MichaIng’

  • Distro version | bookworm 0

  • Kernel version | Linux DietPi 6.6.31+rpt-rpi-2712 #1 SMP PREEMPT Debian 1:6.6.31-1+rpt1 (2024-05-29) aarch64 GNU/Linux

  • Architecture | arm64

  • SBC model | RPi 5 Model B (aarch64)

  • Power supply used | Official Raspberry pi power supply

  • SD card used | SanDisk ultra 64GB

Steps to reproduce

  1. See that theres like 50 pixels of overscan
  2. try adjusting the overscan left, right, top, bottom settings in /boot/config.txt
  3. See that it didnt do anything
  4. try flipping the overscan toggle thats above from 1 to 0 or 0 to 1
  5. Repeat it all with the inbuilt cdietpi-config

Expected behaviour

  • Overscan should either be smaller or larger depending on if i set it to the correct value

Actual behaviour

  • Overscan stays the same,

Extra details

  • I did also try to just adjust the width and height of the output from 1920x1080 to smth different but that didnt work. (I mean the values in the config not the different res settings in dietpi-config)
  • Changing the res settings in dietpi config to either of the 3 availible 1920x1080 settings didnt help either
