Plex Media Player

My first post here

First and foremost many thanks to everyone involved for a simple and easy to use solution which works brilliantly on all my Odroid C2 end points.

Any chance for Plex Media player in the near future?

I am currently using RAAT/Roon on one C2 and Plex Home Theater(Open PHT) on another C2 and would really like to use a single C2 as end point if possible.

Already have it

Thanks and I have seen that but it’s the media player I am after and not the Plex Server.
Plex Media Player(formerly Plex Home Theater) is the front-end media player for Plex’s back-end server component Plex Media Server.

Ah ok…I see it

Looks like it might be included in KODI which is a home theater distro rather than an OS

You can still use the web player I believe…just have to point your browser to the ip.of.the.plexserver:32400

This doesn’t look promising though
Warning!: Plex Home Theater is deprecated and no longer in development. We have focused our efforts on the newer Plex Media Player app instead and recommend moving to that app.

Hello, I have a Allo Sparky that i use for Roon bridge and HQPlayer NAA (Roon Server on Windows) but I also have plex Server (on Windows) and I’d like to use the sparky as player/renderer for Plex.
Is there way a way to do this?

Thank you in advance
Andrea

Indeed to Kodi app seems to be the way to go on Linux machines: https://forums.plex.tv/t/installation-instructions/168854

  • Install Kodi via: dietpi-software > Optimized Software
  • Install Plex app from within Kodi GUI.

Ah…I see he is asking for media player…not the server

I misread that
