Hi, got a little issue after updating my Orange PI 3B with the dietpi-update tool.
After completed and restart I’m not able to access the PI, red light and green light are static on the board, also tried connecting HDMI to see if there is any kinda error, but no image.
SD looks ok on PC, and I can access all the data.
Any idea?
do you have an UART adapter? This would help to get some inside on what happen during boot.
No, is any way to revert that update maybe?
can you show following if you still have access to data partition
cat /your-mount-point/var/tmp/dietpi/logs/dietpi-update.log
Hi
same problem for me. I tried various options gleaned here and at armbian. The latter worked but I wanted to retain my dietpi setup. My solution was to replace bookworm with bullseye, and then everything works again…
My setup is really simple, just regular readout of various domotic smart things in the house, plus samba disk share fo my nvme…
greetings

Hi sorry for the late reply
Thank you for your response, what is weird is that it was working perfectly for like 8 months, and I made lot of updates
You are trying to boot from SD card, right? Can you perhaps try pressing the MaskROM key during the boot process?
That’s not weird at all. It just depends on what is always updated. In this case it was a u-boot update.

That can have such an effect.
Nothing, red and green still static.
Seems like it does a reboot but same.
if you have spare SD card, try to boot original Orange Pi Debian from SD card
Still the same, I really dont know why it died, tried with multiple SD cards
even not working with OrangePi Debian? Using MaskROM did not change anything?
So, when I try that image at first boot it says:
gave up waiting for root file system device at install
@MichaIng maybe you have an idea
