So after updating to 8.24.1, the update for the rpi-eeprom update still shows, but doesn’t install, presumably because it is “held” (per the github post).
Is this the expected behaviour with this update still?
dietpi@DietPi:~$ apt list --upgradeable
Listing... Done
rpi-eeprom/stable 20.1-2 all [upgradable from: 20.1-1]
N: There is 1 additional version. Please use the '-a' switch to see it
dietpi@DietPi:~$ apt list --upgradeable -a
Listing... Done
rpi-eeprom/stable 20.1-2 all [upgradable from: 20.1-1]
rpi-eeprom/now 20.1-1 all [installed,upgradable to: 20.1-2]
dietpi@DietPi:~$ sudo apt update -y
The following packages have been kept back:
rpi-eeprom
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
dietpi@DietPi:~$
Yes
OK thanks.
Assume this will be addressed in a subsequent update?
If I understood correctly, RPi developer will remove package dependcy between rpi-eeprom
and raspi-firmware
from thier end. Once done, workaround can be removed.
BTW: RPI developer removed dependency between packages and workaround is not needed anymore. Package raspi-firmware is not configured yet · Issue #6747 · MichaIng/DietPi · GitHub
