only 1 of 2GB RAM recognized in Nanopc t3 plus

Hello!
First post, thanks a lot for dietPi and everyone who makes it possible and maintain it and the community.
I just installed it in Nanopc T3 Plus (SoC: Samsung S5P6818 Octa-Core Cortex-A53, http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/index.php/NanoPC-T3_Plus )
Used the image for NanoPi M3/T3
I see only half of the RAM is recognized (for example by htop)
I have been searching and I couldn’t find if it’s a known issue.
I’d appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction to fix it.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I’m not familiar with that board but can you install some other OS to verify your observation? Probably you would have a spare SD card.

http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/index.php/NanoPC-T3_Plus#Boot_from_SD_Card

Maybe you could check using one of the Ubuntu core images. Let’s see if it display same.

Thanks for your fast reply!
Yes I had installed both lubuntu and openwrt and both recognize the 2 GB

maybe it’s coming from the fact that you used an image for a NanoPi M3 (1GB) and this is a different board than your NanoPC-T3 Plus (2GB)

Anyway, I guess MichaIng would need to have a look

I think you are right
In the download section for NanoPi M3/T3 it says 2GB.
T3 has 1GB and 2GB versions, anyway my board is T3 Plus, only 2GB version.
Maybe another image has to be built for the T3 Plus in order to detect the 2GB, I don’t know, or maybe it’s an easy fix editing something…
If I can help just let me know.

I’m sorry to insist but, does anybody know how to get it fixed? I guess it should be an easy fix.
Or more information on how to burn your custom dietpi image or similar stuff…
Thnaks!

you could try to install an Armbian image and check how it behave.

https://www.armbian.com/nanopc-t3-plus/

if it’s working you could use DietPi magic script to setup DietPi on top

https://github.com/MichaIng/DietPi/issues/1285

No guaranty that it will work but you could give it a try

Thanks, I’ll give it a try when I can and I will report results here
