No, this is fine since the webserver is listening on that ports, but of course you should always use a strong password. Nextcloud comes even with a brute force protection.

I followed your recommendation and switched to Docker/Nextcloud. First impression → it is faster that the native installation. Bymistake I am now using a docker volume for ncdata and not my USB-Drive… though I read somewhere in the docs that in faxt an external USB drive is not supported for ncdata… So I can live with that… WHEN I find a possibility to upload files directly into ncdata… Do you know if this is possible? And how can I access my data? e.g. perform a file based backup?

Usually your data should be locked outside the container and you should be able to backup them as usual. I guess you specify data location during container setup.
