Anyone a recommendation for a network manager in Xfce? I tried nm-applet, but didn’t seem to work for me. I might have done something wrong though.

Dietpi uses ifupdown, which is not compatible with NetworkManager and this applets. You can use dietpi-config from CLI or switch the whole network stack to NetworkManager.
