Microphone not working on OrangePi Zero 2w

I installed pavucontrol and pulseaudio and was able to get audio from a usb-c to 3.5mm dac. I then got a .dtb file and put it in /boot/allwinner, changed fdtfile= in dietpiEnv.txt snd got sound from the hdmi working. (The whole system is a bit unstable now, and Firefox is almost unusable so I don’t really know what happened with that .dtb file) (The mic wasn’t working before this too)

The problem is, I’m trying to get a microphone working and i just can’t get any input at all. If I connect it with a usb c to 3.5mm without a dac nothing shows up, and with the dac there is always an option in inputs but there is no actual input. The mic works with both adaptors on my phone.
The mic is just a cheap awei clip on, if it matters. Its got 4 poles.

Does anyone know how to get the mic working?

Or would just getting this (Vention USB-Soundkarte, USB-Audio-Interface, Kopfhörer-Adapter, Soundkarte für Mikrofon, Lautsprecher, Laptop, PS4, Computer, externe Soundkarte - AliExpress) soundcard with audio and mic inputs work? I don’t care about the quality, I just need it to work.

Hello
Which dtb file are you using?
For your sound card, you need to manage alsamixer as shown in the link below and enable the input section. You need to search the alsamixer manual and enter the commands in the console, or in the graphical version if you have a desktop.

Other post with Orangepi zero 2w

It should work with your 3.5mm adapter.

I tried to enable those but they don’t seem to exist on my system.

Another person sent the dtb to me so not sure what kind of dtb file it is

So what the command " aplay -l " In a terminal return ?

Hi Totof,

We are discussing this also on the Orange Pi zero chat on the OPI discord.

I think the dtb is based of your work from the Orange Pi zero sound fix. Indeed the link you provided.

Hello Arrafart
Have you a link to follow it please

In the “Orange Pi zero” thread

Can you take a screenshot of the alsa mixer please
And your “aound.rc” file also

Sorry but it’s not possible to have audio input on the 3.5mm connector
It’s clearly marqued on the datasheet
It’s an audio output

With the schematic you Can see it’s on the pin Din of the i2s by the 40 pin connector that you Can found a solution with a Dac
Or via USB with also a Dac

But I connected it with a usb c to 3.5mm with Dac and it shows up as an input but there is no actual input. The adapter came with some fiio headphones

I can take a screenshot of aound.rc later today

Hello
And a picture of your adaptateur USB
Also your result of “aplay -l” When you connect your adaptateur
Try the command “lsusb” too

In lsusb it shows up as Walmart AB13X headset adapter (why’s Walmart here lol)

I can’t post multiple pictures in one post

Just don’t use images to share terminal output. You should be able to copy/paste everything directly from the SSH terminal. This increases readability as well

Your adaptateur seems to be recognize
Can you have a look at the alsa mixer

I tried using ssh but couldn’t get it to work

What should I look for there?

Hi

My OPI zero 2w was connected to my Minidsp with USB
With ssh i tape “alsamixer” and i have this

What’s your screen capture ?
