MEGAcmd on DietPi

Hi all,

I’m looking at using my DietPi server for backup locally, and as great as self-hosting is I’m also considering third-party cloud providers for additional peace of mind.

I haven’t used MEGA previously, but as far as I can tell their privacy/security is as good as you can expect from a commercial cloud service. (disregarding Proton of course)

MEGA offer MEGAcmd which lets you use bash scripts for backups etc. from command line.

Does anyone have experience with installing MEGAcmd, and using it with DietPi?

My Linux skill level is pretty basic. Everything I know is from setting up and using DietPi so thank you to everyone in the forums, and devs of course for all your hard work!

Hello SlowRaid,
I have no experience with this app, but if you have trouble to get it running I can try to assist you in t his process.

Sounds like a plan! Thanks!

Alright, can you share some system info? What device do you use, is it x86 or ARM64 or something else?

All good for now, I was just looking at different options for and MEGAcmd was one, I’ll definitely try out, and keep you in the loop if you wish. No need for backup as of now:) (pun-intended)
