Additional Information (if applicable)

I’ve disabled the internal WiFi. It would work for a little while and crash, which froze the system. It was troublesome even running macOS. Likely damaged or faulty.

I’ve got a small assortment of USB WiFi dongles I’d like to try. Finding drivers isn’t an issue.

I think I’m not understanding how to install and activate the drivers. Once I’ve got that I think I can use any of the WfFi tutorials available.

I just need a tutorial or some pointers to get me going. I generally enjoy solving these kinds of problems.

Thanks in advance!
Richard

If the Wifi is supported by linux, it will be as easy as loading the appropriate kernel module.
Otherwise is can be a bit more tough.
You can start by listing the usb devices with lsusb and then finding out which chip they are using to load the proper module.

And to check ip a if adapter wlan0 is already shown
