I cannot start LXDE. I have installed it through dietpi-software. After trying to run it with startx, I get the following:

I am running dietpi version 7.2.3 on a RPi 4 Model B
did you actually installed it actively? Because Desktop Preference is just a preference selection. It doesn’t mean it has been installed already. If any application would require a desktop, the preference would be used as user choice and installed accordingly.
my mistake, was under the impression it was installed by default as preference
