Steps to reproduce

  1. Install DietPi

  2. Connect it to an IPv6 Network

  3. check if gloabl address is there (inet6 2a02:908:XXXX:XXXX:e65f:XXXX:XXXX:a426/64 scope global dynamic mngtmpaddr valid_lft 27902sec preferred_lft 27902sec)

  4. ping ipv6.google.com (or another ipv6 address outside the network, local works)

Expected behaviour

  • Pings IPv6 Address

Actual behaviour

  • Error with connect: Network is unreachable

Extra details

  • ping on local ipv6 addresses work
  • pings on an DNS Server IP instead of hostnames does not work either
  • default rpi image does work with IPv6 in the same network without issues (same pi and same sd card)
  • Same behavior can be noted on the Raspberry pi 5
  • Router uses OpenWrt 23.05.3
