Internal Error: Oops: 17 error on Rpi 3B+

hi all,

my dietpi installation has been running perfectly for at least 6 months, and recently I noticed a bit of flakiness - I’m using it as an Emby mediaserver, and occasionally we could not connect to it and I had to reboot the RPi.

Today I was ssh’d in, and at the time that the RPi lost connectivity, I saw these messages posted in my session.

A quick bit of googling around suggests some kind of driver error, but I am at a loss as to how to debug this further. I’m not an expert linux user - I’ve just used Dietpi’s software installation program to install a few packages and otherwise have not touched the system.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

many thanks for your report. Not sure if we from DietPi side can do anything as it looks like a kernel issue. The kernel used RPi devices, is the original one from Raspberry OS provided by Raspberry Foundation. What kernel version you are running? Can you check uname -a

Probably it might be needed to have it reported at Raspberry side https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues

Ok thats an actual kernel version. Might be good to open a parallel thread to have to have some more eyes looking at it.

Which DietPi version are you using? Can you paste the output of:

vcgencmd get_throttled
vcgencmd get_config arm_freq_min
grep arm_freq_min /boot/config.txt

Running DietPi v6.32.2 on a Rpi 4 Model B (armv7l)

Here’s the results of these commands.

throttled=0x0
arm_freq_min=0
#arm_freq_min=300

arm_freq_min=0 hmm not sure if this means “unset”, #arm_freq_min=300 is expected after DietPi v6.32 update. But just to be sure, did you make a reboot after latest update? If not due once, to assure that idle frequencies are defaults.
